African Children’s Choir Comes to Northampton

African Children’s Choir at Academy of Music

The Choir takes its audience on a musical journey across the African continent, from a crocodile encounter on Lake Victoria to the celebration of a successful harvest, from a traditional courtship dance to a celebration of all-time Gospel favorites.

The Academy of Music in Northampton will host the African Children’s Choir on Friday, October 14th at 7:30pm. The choir is made up of children ages 7-11 from many different parts of Africa, including Rwanda, Kenya, and Ghana. Each performance is filled with songs and dances celebrating the history of the choir and the many different African cultures represented by its members. The performance is a great way for kids to learn about African cultures and to gain an appreciation for world music- not to mention that it’s an opportunity to hear a wonderful performance!
