The holidays are here and many families are thinking about gift giving. Art Walk Easthampton is happening this Saturday, December 14th from 5-8pm and is a festive event to attend with the family while shopping local and handmade for the holidays. With over fifteen exhibition spaces to explore, families can expect to discover unique gifts, art exhibits, local author/illustrator, and even art demonstrations. There are three areas to check out during this Saturday Art Walk, including Eastworks, the Old Town Hall, and the Cottage Street Cultural District…
In Eastworks (116 Pleasant Street), R(e)volve Pop-up Shop will be hosting 27 well-known artists and designers based in Western Massachusetts as well as a trunk show for Project Runway Season 11 competitor, Joseph Aaron Segal. Beyond one-of-a-kind clothing, shoppers can also find accessories for men and women, gifts for children, furnishings, fine art and photography, and seasonal décor. Revolve Pop-Up Shop is the inaugural curatorial project to be selected for MAP (the Mill Arts Project), a collaborative incubator space supported by Easthampton City Arts+ and Eastworks.
Directly across the hall shoppers will find the Eastworks Holiday Pop Up Store, offering ‘something for everyone’ by the talented resident artisans of Eastworks. From photography to children’s books to upcycled enamel ware, this boutique will not only offer gifts to buy but also events such as book signings and Santa sightings throughout the day.
Also located in the Eastworks Building, Knack: The Clever Art of Reuse is a creative reuse center featuring creative supplies, upcycled apparel, home décor, winter accessories, jewelry, and more created by local artisans. Visitors looking for help in creating a handmade gift can attend a DIY workshop and construct a thoughtful and practical felt cup cozy for the coffee, tea or cocoa lover in their lives.
