with Alison J. Kay, a powerful energy healer who recently returned from her 10 years of Asia studying intensively the subtle energies of body and of Universe. She will be spending the day at the beautiful Three Sisters Sanctuary grounds, freeing people from the subconscious/unconscious blocks they've formed and horded at their chakras. She goes in depth by teaching Yoga asanas, scents, mantras sounds and statements that clear each chakra, energy point of the body, along with going through an experiential Theta Healing with Access Consciousness to physically get deep and work at the potential energy of each person. It will be a powerful and serene day, to where you are sure to walk away feeling light as a butterfly, knowing the roots of your blocks, and knowing the tools to continue to release them and free your energy so you may create the best reality you imagine. What else is possible?
Where: Three Sisters Sanctuary in Goshen, MA

Barry Freedland: Multitasking
Location: A.P.E. Ltd. Gallery
126 Main Street
Northampton, MA 01060

May 28 – June 12, 2013

Artist Reception: Friday, June 7, 2013
5 – 8 p.m.

Multitasking is a dynamic installation of six “drawing” robots at A.P.E. gallery, which Williamsburg resident Barry Freedland, employs to generate art, addressing broad issues about the intersection of time, technology, human abilities and limitations. The robots are a synthesis of a prosthetic devise, and a tool, made of microcontrollers, servo motors and castings of the artist’s body. Designed, built and programmed by Freedland, the robots are an extension of the artist, allowing him to simultaneously compose multiple, painstakingly detailed drawings that he could not otherwise create, and allowing him to go beyond the mere limitations of the physical self.

Born in Detroit, Freedland lives and works in Western MA. Freedland’s work ranges from minute objects to large installations, exploring themes from his own body and the language of art, with much of his work reacting to human presence. His artistic engagement with material (Dubble Bubble Bubble gum or his own DNA), technique and process is a reflection on human nature, machines and consciousness. Critical review of Freedland’s work can be found in Art News, Metal Floss, New York Times, Boston Globe, Asian Art News, Time Out, World Sculpture News and many others. He is represented by Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York.
