Hand-Knitted Hats for Hilltown Kids
Hilltown Families is pleased to partner with Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Hampshire and Franklin Counties (a United Way program) in the distribution of hand-knitted hats to hilltown children in need.
Senior Bertha Baranowski (age 93) of Hadley, MA, a recipient of the 2008 Presidential Lifetime Service Award, donates 300-500 (!) hats annually that she has knitted for RSVP. Hilltown Families is assisting in the distribution of child sized hats to families in need in the hilltowns. Hats are available to individuals on a first come, first serve basis. To reserve a hat for a child in need, email hilltownfamilies@gmail.com with “Hilltown Hats” in the subject line.

the hilltowns! and knitting!! hooray!! sienna, will this be an annual, on-going (i.e. november through march) event? i’d be happy to whip up a hat… 500 would be a lot, though. what an amazing lady!
