GatorRoo Music Festival in Huntington
Tuesday, June 22nd at 6pm
The Primate Fiasco will be performing with all Gateway elementary students (K- 4), Paul Sawyer and the Harmonic Evolution at the GatorRoo Music Festival on Tuesday, June 22nd.
The concert will open with Gateway elementary students performing with the Harmonic Evolution—a rock band composed of Gateway high school students. Elementary music teacher Paul Sawyer will then perform with the Harmonic Evolution. Primate Fiasco will then take the stage. The evening will conclude with a grant finale of all elementary students performing “All You Need Is Love” with over 40 wind and string players accompanying from Gateway bands, the community and Primate Fiasco.
“It will be a night to remember when we come together as a community to celebrate our children and music,” said Paul Sawyer, elementary music director.
The Primate Fiasco — Northampton-based, family-friendly professional rock band — includes Nick Borges on Trumpet and vocals, Dave Dello Russo on banjo, harp and vocals; Steve Yarbro (pictured right) on Saxaphone, clarinet and vocals; Chris Trevethan on drums, and J. Witbeck on Tuba/Bass.
The concert begins at 6 p.m. on Gateway’s Booster Field and is open to the public. Admission will not be charged, but donations will be accepted at the door. Food and drinks will be sold in the Booster Club concession stand. Donations and any profit from the cookout will be used to fund the arts enrichment program next year at the elementary schools. – Those attending are advised to bring chairs and blankets.
