On Sunday, March 4th from 10am-4pm – BOTANY/SPRING FLOWER SHOW: Mount Holyoke College Botanic Garden hosts their Annual Spring Flower Show in their Talcott Greenhouse. Showcasing spring blooming plants and bulbs with a theme “Orchard and Vine” this year. Kids can supplement their botany studies while view blooming plants that wouldn’t normally be blooming at the same time. By comparing and contrasting, even the youngest kids can have fun studying the differences in blooming bulbs, as well as the greenhouse’s miniature vineyard with red & white grape vines. SUMMER CIRCUS ARTS CAMP: SHOW Circus Studio announces three rings of Circus Summer Camp for children ages 6-15 this August in Easthampton: Aug 6-10, 13-17 & 20-24. These three week-long camps will run from 9am-3pm each day and will cover all aspects of circus including trapeze, fabric, juggling, balancing, acrobatics, partnering, human pyramids, stretching, strength, & circus games/activities. HILLTOWN ARTS FESTIVAL: Hilltown Arts Alive is having the Second Annual Hilltown Arts Festival Saturday July 14, 2012 from 10-4 on the Green along Rt. 112 in Worthington. Artists & artisans are invited to apply and/or get information about participating. The fee is modest to have a 12′ X 12′ space. In addition the local church will run a Country Fair, Plein-Air Artists will be painting in town and selling their work at a silent auction, Hilltown Artisans Guild will have an Art Sale at the Town Hall and local musicians will be playing at an open Mike. Pioneer Valley Planning Commission writes: “Did You Know? Bay State Bike Week is getting bigger every year. 18 communities hosted events in 2011 (up from 13 communities in 2010). Despite the rainy weather, there were 970 riders participating in the week’s events. Biking instead of driving improves air and water quality in our region and reduces greenhouse gas emissions—and it’s good for you, too! Plan ahead for this year’s Bay State Bike Week in May. All events will be posted at www.baystatebikeweek.org by the end of April. Check the website, pencil local events into your calendar, and come out and ride. Also, consider making a belated New Year’s resolution to ride your bike at least once a month—or perhaps once a week—this year. For more info contact the PVPC at 413-781-6045.”

Historic Deerfield hosts the event, which consists of talks and presentations from museum staff, scholars, and historians offering a review of the available history of the event. The idea behind the event is that in sharing information, participants can explore the context in which the event took place and the results and outcomes of the event.
