Being Self

Online Camp

Greenfield, MA ♦ Being Self is a unique online camp experience for LGBTQ+ kids. Each day will be a 2-3 hour session involving theatre, self-discovery and artistic activities. The goal of the camp is to help young people discover who they are in this moment and who they would like to become. All activities lead to a final video project where campers will record a documentary of who they are. These videos will be edited together into a short film which will be shown on Eggtooth Productions website.

Pioneer Valley Ballet Summer Program

Easthampton, MA ♦ Pioneer Valley Ballet introduces new half-day and full-day summer dance programs. From July 6-10, go on an adventure under the sea. Storytime Ballet with The Little Mermaid (ages 4-6) runs 9am-12pm. Your little dancer will connect the story of The Little Mermaid with movement, music, art, and fun. Children will let their creativity and imaginations grow as they hear the story, create a backdrop, learn a dance, and perform an in-studio show for their families on the last day. Mermaid Dances (ages 7-9) runs 9am-4pm. Each day dancers will have ballet class, contemporary ballet, repertory, and set design. Following the Little Mermaid story, students will learn choreography and create sets to produce an in-studio show at the end of the week.

ArtPlay!

Northampton, MA ♦ ArtPlay returns to the Northampton Center for the Arts at 33 Hawley in 2020! Register early for this exciting summer program for youth ages 6-12 years. Claws

Northampton, MA ♦ Claws camping trips take students 11-17 into wild places. They climb mountains, ford rivers and sea kayak. Students test their edges and boundaries as they learn skills needed to overcome challenges. They move through fascinating terrain and waters, having fun while practicing mindfulness. They gain the ability to control their thoughts and movements, like seal, fish, and birds, bears, and bobcats do. They learn to read the great patterns of biomes, of weather, witnessing grand forces and elements expressing themselves. Claws go into the wild because the wild is where they can grow—where they can grasp life, grip it tight and carry it aloft. This year they’re going to the White Mountains and Casco Bay in Maine. There are trips to the Sierras, too.

Our Place Summer School

Northampton, MA ♦ Our Place Summer School gets kids off the screen and into the green. For 5 days, campers hike, climb, wade, and swim “our place”: the 5 ecoregions of the Nonotuck biome. These activities aren’t just “fun”—they’re designed to increase camper’s perceptual abilities, stimulate their critical thinking skills, inspire their creative imaginations, and counteract “nature deficit disorder.” Through active physical and mental engagement with “our place,” they gain a deep and lasting appreciation of it—and themselves. Students go from site to site—mountains, forests, brooks, industrial brownfields, you name it—enjoying an adventurous, collaborative, inquiry-based investigation into the mysteries of the bios (life) that is where we live: our place!

The Bement School Summer Programs

Deerfield, MA ♦ The Bement School offers summer programs for children from 4 to 15 years old. Children have the opportunity to enjoy the fun of a traditional day camp and help create their own schedule by choosing from our wide range of unique activities. Digging into Nature at Pine Hill provides outdoor education for ages 5-12. The Junior Camp provides a safe, nurturing camp experience for our youngest campers. The Adventure Camp offers activity choices that include cooking, video game and movie-making, sports, nature, arts and crafts, and swimming. Journey Camp

Deerfield, MA ♦ Their 27th Summer! A treasured place to grow friendships. Directed by Sarah Pirtle. Parents say, “Thank you for creating such an amazing camp!” Camp Sessions for children ages 6-12: Young participants build a stick house village in the woods, create theater, enjoy laughter, games, music, and art. Being Self

Online Camp

Greenfield, MA ♦ Being Self is a unique online camp experience for LGBTQ+ kids. Each day will be a 2-3 hour session involving theatre, self-discovery and artistic activities. The goal of the camp is to help young people discover who they are in this moment and who they would like to become. All activities lead to a final video project where campers will record a documentary of who they are. These videos will be edited together into a short film which will be shown on Eggtooth Productions website.

Have your own horse for the week! Create a partnership with your horse and learn responsibility for a living creature. Learn proper riding technique, enjoy games on horseback, and trail ride in beautiful Mt. Toby forest. Martial Arts training increases confidence, strength, and focus. Break a board, win a medal, and learn self defense. Use a Bo staff and practice the awesome kicks of Tae Kwon Do in a safe, supportive environment. Cool off at the end of each day with swimming at Mill River Recreation Area in Amherst.

Massachusetts Academy of Ballet Summer Session

URJ Eisner Day Camp

Great Barrington, MA ♦ The Day Camp at Eisner is located on the grounds of Eisner Camp. It has its own building and playground for exploration and fun.
