Primetime After-School Program at Crocker Farm Elementary School

Amherst, MAPrimetime After-School Program at Crocker Farm Elementary School is operated by the Town of Amherst, Department of Leisure Services. The program provides homework help, field trips, art, enrichment activities, sports, and other recreation activities. Primetime Afterschool Program employs an experienced director and staff who are CPR and First Aid certified. The program is also licensed by the State of Massachusetts. Primetime Afterschool Program operates Monday – Friday from 3:15-5:30 p.m. The cost of the program is: $68.00 a day or full time for just $306.00 per month. Pioneer Valley Strings

Amherst & South Hadley, MAMusic lessons, Music Appreciation, and String Ensemble. Join Pioneer Valley Strings’ newest class: Music Appreciation Class (An overview of the history of Western Classical Music). The class runs from September through May (16 classes total) on alternate Saturdays. The large string ensemble has openings for violinists, violists, and cellists age 12 and up (including adults). Pioneer Valley Ballet

Upside-Up Music: Music Together/Kids’ Jam

Shelburne Falls, Ashfield, & Greenfield, MA ♦ All children are musical! Early-childhood & elementary music programs in the western Mass hilltowns. Music Together (birth-5) includes singing, small & large movement, percussion instrument play & more, preparing the child for a lifetime of musical expression. Kids’ Jam Family Music Workshop (ages 5-7 + sibs) is a Kodály-based curriculum created by Lui Collins, which focuses on singing games, songs, solfége and rhythm exercises, hand bells, and other percussion instrument play. It fills in the gap between the early-childhood music program and formal instrumental or vocal lessons, by broadening and deepening the early-elementary child’s musical experience in a playful community setting. Academy of Music Theatre Fall Musical Theatre Classes

Northampton, MAAcademy of Music Theatre Youth Programs is offering new Musical Theatre class sessions for Fall 2019! Fall Musical Theatre class sessions are designed to support learning that will continue in both the winter musical and the summer program. It will include a body warm-up, theater/improv games, and dance class. Over the eight weeks, the student will be able to learn the lyrics, character development, and dance for several pieces of music. There is no previous experience necessary. Nerissa Nields Local Chorus

Northampton, MA ♦ Nerissa Nields runs a Local Chorus for ages 5-13, a performance group in 3-part harmony. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 4-4:45pm at The Montessori School of Northampton starting September 17, 2019, and running for 15 weeks through MLK day (no meetings on school holidays). Cost: $225. For older kids who want a challenge, Nerissa offers Focus Chorus, a four-part harmony group for ages 11-16. Meetings are Tuesday evenings from 7:15-8:15pm in Little Blue Studio in Northampton.
