Hilltown Families Annual Community Handmade Valentine Swap

Hilltown Families’ 12th Annual Community Handmade Valentine Swap

A handmade valentine swap allows local families to be creative together while connecting with other families in Western Massachusetts. Through the swap, participating families mail out handmade valentines to ten assigned addresses, and in return, they receive handmade valentines from ten other participating families. The cards can be handmade by any combination of child and adult, so if your kids aren’t completely up to the task, or if an adult would like to make their own design, there’s flexibility. All are welcomed to participate in this intergenerational swap.

It’s that time of the year again! Hilltown Families celebrates 15 years in 2020, and for the past 12 years, we have coordinated a community Handmade Valentine Swap that connects community via loving-kindness. Making handmade valentines is an excellent way to push against the commercialization of yet another holiday while being creative with your family and friends. Sign up below!

Deadline to sign up (below) is Friday, January 31st. By Monday (2/3/2020), participants will be emailed their assigned names/address of participants in which to mail their handmade valentines. All participants are kindly requested to mail their valentines off by Monday, February 10th.

If interested in participating this year, the information below must be filled out and submitted by Friday, January 31st, 2020. Participation is open to all residents living in the four counties of Western MA, including Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties.

If you have multiple children and would like each one to receive their own list of families to swap with, please register each person separately.

Be sure to click on the submit button above! You should receive a personal confirmation within two business days. If you do not receive a confirmation within that time, email us at valentineswap@hilltownfamilies.org no later than Friday, January 31st. Payment to participate must be received by Friday, January 31st.
